Teen arrested for stealing goat
Lawmen attached to the Area 3 Agricultural Protection Branch arrested and charged a 14-year-old boy with larceny of cattle following an incident in Cornwall Mountain district, St Elizabeth, on June 28.
Reports from the lawmen are that on the date mentioned above, between the hours of 6 a.m., and 5 p.m., an elderly farmer tied three nanny goats close to his home to graze. At 5 p.m., on his return to the location, one of the goats, which is valued at $25,000, was missing. A report was made to the police, and an investigation launched. Based on intelligence, the teen was later arrested and he reportedly admitted to the crime in the presence of his mother. The teen later led the lawmen to where he hid the goat, and the animal was retrieved.
He appeared in court last Friday and was remanded. He is slated to return to the St Elizabeth Parish Court on October 9.
