Wanted man captured in St Andrew, gun and ammo seized

The St Andrew Central police have captured a man wanted in connection with a recent robbery, seizing a firearm and ammunition during the operation.

Reports from the Half Way Tree police are that about 2:45 p.m. on Monday, September 22, lawmen carried out a targeted operation along South Camp Road, St Andrew. The wanted man was spotted, accosted, and searched.

During the search, police reportedly found a Smith & Wesson 9-millimetre pistol with a magazine loaded with fourteen 9mm rounds in his possession.

He was taken into custody and is expected to face multiple charges. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Police say the seizure and arrest form part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks linked to robberies across the Corporate Area.
