Twenty-nine-year-old Robert Denis, otherwise called 'Reno', a mason of Johnson Hill, Trelawny, has been charged with receiving stolen property following an incident in Seafield district, Salt Marsh, Trelawny, in July.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that at 5:45 p.m., culprits pried open the roof of a house, gained entry through the bathroom, and stole a Samsung smartwatch, an iPhone 11, a Samsung Galaxy A04 smartphone and cash amounting to $15,200. Based on information received, in August, the police conducted an operation in Salt Marsh, where a house was searched. During the search, the stolen iPhone was recovered from a child, who stated that she had received it from Denis. Another operation was conducted in the area and Denis was arrested on reasonable suspicion for the offence and was cautioned. He later stated that the phone had been sold to him by another man.

On Wednesday, the iPhone 11 was positively identified by the complainant in the presence of Denis. He was subsequently charged in relation to the offence. He is scheduled to appear before the courts on Monday.
